Day Twenty Two - Cincinnati to St Louis

We began our day with a quick trip to Louisville Kentucky. We HAD to stop at the Louisville slugger Factory. It was so cool! We took a quick 15 minute tour of the factory and learned all about how the bats are made. From youth and mini bats to the major leaguers. M got a bat to bring home where the logo was slightly off so they discounted it to $10. I wish we had room in the Jeep tonstock up on bats. At $10 because the logo is off, he’d be set for life!!

We headed into St Louis but our check in wasn’t until 4pm so we made a quick pit stop at Best Buy USA. Their clearance section is insane!  A got a programming inventor code writing thing (her father knows what it is...) for 75% off. Even with the Canadian dollar, it was a great deal. 

We checked in and had to leave for the game right away. It was a great game. We knew right from the first inning when the Brewers manager was ejected, that it was going to be entertaining. Also, it was their hall of fame night so Tony Larusa, Ozzie Smith, Bob Gibson, Chris Carpenter and many more greats were in attendance. 

During the break in the fifth inning, Maddux yelled at me to put up our sign. There was a jumbotron message asking “Where are you from?”  So we held up our sign and the camera flipped on it within seconds. The PA announcer even read it aloud. It was a pretty cool way to end our trip. 

Now, onto the long journey home. We can’t wait to see everyone and snuggle our doggo and sleep in our own beds!  It was a great trip and we’d do it all over again - with a few minor tweaks!!

Day Five - Minneapolis to Chicago

Today got off to a great start!  We laughed at the people heading into Minneapolis during the morning rush hour as we zoomed right out!  Ha Ha!  And then... construction!  Bam!  It dampened our spirits, but we were still moving forward!  We found a cute State Park by Wisconsin Dells to eat lunch only to discover it wasn’t for day use. So back tracked and found a picnic table and playground. It was nice. When we got back on the interstate, we were detoured into Madison. The detour took us about 45 minutes off course and then another 45 to get back on track which got us into Chicago right at RUSH HOUR. Bam.  ha ha?  Karma kicked us in the butt! The good was that Madison is very pretty. The lake on the University of Wisconsin campus is gorgeous and I would love to live there. T would not. He was less than impressed by the detour. Day Nine - Cleveland

Today started off really early. I’m not sure why none of us can sleep in... We headed to the field two hours before game time. T wanted to watch warm ups. It was HOT!  90 degrees and no wind or clouds. Just before game time, some clouds came out to give us a little break and Jose Ramirez hit a home run and literally brought rain...  Josh Donaldson who?!?  But by the second inning, it was clear skies and straight sunshine which made us all a tad uncomfortable. Luckily for us, there was a kids zone. They got to throw strikes, hit wiffle balls, and take swings off a pitching machine.  M was in heaven!  We went back and watched some of the game with T, and melted some more. On Sundays, all kids get to run the bases after the game.  A guy at the hotel said that Terry Francone likes to go out an high five all the kids.  And that some of the players will hang out on the field signing autographs.  Sadly, this was not the case today, but they still had...

Day Eleven - Niagara Falls

There's a place I know in Ontario Where the sealions kiss, so the story goes It's amazing shows and Friendship Cove Everyone loves Marine Land You'll be spinning, diving and soaring high Our roller coaster ride will fly you to the sky Now you know what you'll say when you leave here today Everyone loves Marine Land Okay, now you all have the song in your head too!  I've been singing it all day long!! We arrived right when the gates opened and headed to Friendship Cove to see the Orcas and Belugas.  The Belugas were so playful and we could only see one orca which was a little disappointing.  I hope there isn't only one left...  but I didn't ask because I didn't want to know the truth!
