Day Nineteen - Philadelphia to Baltimore
We left Philly early and headed into Baltimore. We headed straight to Charm City Cakes (both locations) The first one, where they filmed Ace of Cakes is only open by appointment and we didn't have one. So down to the store front at the harbor for some treats, we went. YUM!! The boys opted for cupcakes but A and I had cakes in a jar. Delish!!
We hung out at the harbor for a bit. The kids played chess in the sunshine. And then we headed over to Babe Ruth's house and museum. They have preserved part of his grandparent's house (where he was born) and then renovated the rest into a museum. I snapped a pic of M on the stairs in the old house and told him Babe probably spent time in Time Out on those very stairs.
We checked into our hotel downtown and headed to the game. It was a blow out! The battle of the basement proved to have a ton of hitting power. Including a grand slam for the Mets. There was a nice gentleman that came to talk to us about our sign. He is from Seattle and doing a similar trip, but opposite to us. He was heading to Philly next. It was nice to know we aren't the only crazy ones.
Baltimore is beautiful and full of bricks. It's no wonder the Orioles are Orange. With all the Mets fans in the stands wearing blue, it was like being at an Oiler game!
