Day Twenty-One Pittsburgh - Cincinnati
This week has been crazy. Waking up in a different city everyday has us all turned upside down. We only have a few days left so we are trying to remain sane and finish strong.
We were supposed to wake up early and head to the Cincinnati zoo. But after deliberating last night, we decided that we would probably need more than the three hours we scheduled to see everything we wanted to see. So we opted for a sleep in and slow start.
We stopped for a quick stop at Hobby Lobby - you know, Michaels on steroids! I love it and probably could have spent an hour and a ton of money there! There was a great sign that I want to get T for his office but we have no room to bring it home. I’ll be investigating their international shipping as soon as we get home!
We got into Cincinnati and were greeted by thousands (ok, maybe just a couple) of rednecks in town for a Lynyrd Synyrd and Hank Williams Jr concert. That would explain why there were only 19,000 people at the Reds game...
We were happy to see we weren’t the only ones in Giants gear. It was, by far, the quietest game we’ve seen. But we had great seats. We got two batting practice balls (1 hit by THE Brandon Belt) and M was able to score a couple of autographs from Ray Black and Derek Holland. I posted on FB that nothing to wipe off his smile... until the bottom of the 11th when there was a walkoff homerun for the Reds. Instant heartbreak. Poor guy.
We were treated to a fireworks show after the game. They do this every Friday night home game. It went on for a good fifteen minutes. It seemed longer than Canada Day at home!
All in all, it was a great day. A late night and tomorrow will be an early morning!
