Day Nine - Cleveland
Today started off really early. I’m not sure why none of us can sleep in...
We headed to the field two hours before game time. T wanted to watch warm ups. It was HOT! 90 degrees and no wind or clouds. Just before game time, some clouds came out to give us a little break and Jose Ramirez hit a home run and literally brought rain... Josh Donaldson who?!? But by the second inning, it was clear skies and straight sunshine which made us all a tad uncomfortable. Luckily for us, there was a kids zone. They got to throw strikes, hit wiffle balls, and take swings off a pitching machine. M was in heaven! We went back and watched some of the game with T, and melted some more.
On Sundays, all kids get to run the bases after the game. A guy at the hotel said that Terry Francone likes to go out an high five all the kids. And that some of the players will hang out on the field signing autographs. Sadly, this was not the case today, but they still had fun on the field.
T's Halos ended up losing a close one. The three run homer in the first didn't help anything, but it did give us two minutes of warm rainfall.
After the game, we cooled off in the hotel pool and headed to the Christmas Story House. There it was in all it's glory. With the hideous leg lamp in the front window. Fra-gil-ay!! The museum and gift shop were closed, but I was AT THE HOUSE!! I could almost hear the dogs next door!
Tomorrow, we head back to Canada! A's looking forward Niagara Falls and I hope it doesn't disappoint!
